Sooooo cute!

I thought I'd pop by me ol' wee blog and share the sweetest pic I've ever laid eyes on....it is no secret that I adore chow chows, and there is nothing more precious on the planet than a chow chow puppy.....but this wee lil' pup needed protectin' as he was only 6 weeks old and frightened of everything! Unbelieveably, the RABBIT...(French lop-eared rabbit) took him under her "ear" so to speak, and cuddled him and cared for him and the puppy never whined again, or tried to run away!

Now isn't that the sweetest thing you've seen or heard? The photo is from an old magazine and i've had it on my fridge forever....time to clean up, but before it goes in the bin, I had to share it with you....by the way, the photo is called "The Baby Sitter"...lol! (I just KNOW Debra will love it!)

I must be sub-consciously wishing for summer cause all my kits are looking that way lately! My newest is no different! And the layouts above are special, are they not? Made by my Creative Team Members and friends Traci Reed and Debra Tope...using this kit....yet don't they both look so different from each other?! Well, anyhoo! A little different...

My new kit is done, and, admittedly it is a little different looking for me. More sophisticated, dare I say, modern, perhaps? it just flew out of me like it had a mind of it's own, so I guess it just HAD to be made, lol!

It is called Green Serene. Here is the preview:

Traci made this layout with it right away...isn't it a darling photo of her Nana? She made a headpiece of orchids for that Orchid Ball, from her own garden!

New Layouts!

My pal Traci Reed, the one and only original Scrapmommy created not ONE, but TWO wonderful layouts using my kits this week, and i just wanted to take this opportunity to share them with you!! Traci is also a designer, a wonderfully talented one, who sells at ACOT. My favorite thing about Traci's own designs has always been her talent for creating wonderful patterns. As a scrapper, and wonderful photographer, she is a hot commodity in the scrapping world and serves on many creative teams, besides my own, I am proud to say! She is quite talented at using tons of patterned papers on one page without ever looking too busy! When I first started out in digi scrapping, Traci taught me so much!! I owe her a great deal of gratitude and I really value her friendship!! :)

Here are those two layouts I told you about before I started gushing, lol!! This one is of Traci's Nana, whom she recently lost in death, sadly. Traci commemorates her memory beautifully with her skill as a scrapper and her use of my new Altered Whites Papers and Elements, as well as her use of a favorite song that reminds her of her Nana as journaling.

This next layout of Traci's is using mine and Robyn England's Festivus Kit. Traci recently visited Louisiana, and her journaling, and mysterious photo along with the mardis gras inspired papers and elements work perfectly together.

Oh how much I love to see layouts done with my kits! That reminds me!!! I know you have been buying my kits, but have you been scrapping with them too? If you have, read on below and see a special offer good for a few more days!

What've i been up to?

Well, I have been a busy girl lately, to be sure! I have wanted to post here and let everyone know what things I've been up to, but each day that passed i was just too tired to pay a visit to me ol' wee blog and opted for the pillow instead! Well not tonight! I'm going to at least SHOW you some of the things I have been making! AND, I have some really special designs that will be available soon in the free Scrap Artist kit called Wintersong...it is available on December 24th and 25th only and anyone who spends ten dollars at the SA shoppe is gettin' it! I really think this kit is WELL WORTH the shopping spree, it is AWESOME...

Incredible, but true!

I have neglected my poor little blog and have been soooo busy lately with real life responsibility as well as a little designing.....but I have missed it! I will have previews to show you all of some of the work I have been busy with, but right now I thought I'd pop my head in and share with you this incredible, but true quote I just read by Friedrich Nietzsche and that I found on my friend Robyn England's blog today:

"We have art in order not to die of the truth"

I don't know about you, but this quote FLOORED me! It has so much personal significance, it is scary. Of course, Nietzsche is who I quote as part of the title of my blog, so finding his words easy to identify with, (at least some of them) wasn't the surprise. But the stark truth in this quote is what startled me. I'm going to bed, now, and I'm going to ponder on this, meditate on it's meaning.

I'd love to hear what you all think of it, though...how you interpret the meaning behind Nietzsche's words? It sure would be nice to hear from you all!

I just wanted to say that I am still pinching myself. I am thrilled to be a designer at Scrap Artist, and to be able to create side by side with such wonderfully creative ladies, including my best internet friend, Robyn England. Thank you Robyn, for your friendship throughout everything. I can always count on you!

Congratulations to my fellow apprnetices Lisa, Amber, Linda, and Robyn. And thank you for your support friends! It really has been appreciatiated!

Thank you to everyone at Scrap Artist, the encouragement from Nancie, Michelle, and others has been invaluable.

Also, special thanks to Maya, who encouraged me to participate in the first place! She really kicked me in the butt and told me to be me...quirky and different, and to produce quality papers and elements...to be sure i was completely original, and to produce my own slant on an old element...even if it was as common as a flower...to give it the "Fiddlette treatment". Wow, I've finally "made it" in the digi blog land! I've been TAGGED!! And not just by ONE bloggin friend, (happyrobyn, Robyn England) but by TWO (webchyk Becky Troxel) at the same time...same day-same assignment! How do these things happen? And I suppose i only have to do this once and only tag 5 more, right? Okie dokie! FUN!

Okay here are five wierdnesses about me:

1. I am obsessed with plucking unwanted, unsightly hairs...lol...but my buddies already know this about me since weve had a day long discussion about it on the internet today!!

2. I have an unusual facial tick...I blink hard every few minutes, and sometimes every few seconds...well, often anyways....probably because of my dry itchy eyes and allergies, but my dh thinks its cute and calls me "blink blink".

3. I was obsessed with silent movies and early Hollywood history for several years of my life...i belonged to groups such as the Silent Society, Hollywood Heritage, and the L.A. Conservancy....I was at Charlie Chaplin's 100 year birthday (anniversary of his birth, really, as he was already dead) and I met some wonderful old time actors and movie legends like Hal Roach during that time. I still love all that, I just don't spent the kind of time I used to reading biographies, and collecting movie stills and paraphenelia!

4. I hate worms! Can't stand to even look at them...they are disgusting and vile...I'd rather touch a snake than a worm!! GROSS!!!

5. I was the drum major of my high school marching band...as a senior...Oh, do i have some hilarious band photos to scrap and share with y'all!! rofl!!

Although I told myself I didn't want to compete in the SA Apprentice Contest, (not a fan of contests!) when the entries started to go up, I just couldn't resist. There are some incredibly BEAUTIFUL freebies in the contest gallery, and the competition is tough! This is actually quite exciting!

So, at the very least, I was able to share with all of you a little freebie, right? Whatever happens, it was fun to do that!

Okay...I'm new to this, so cut me some slack, girlfriends...but i think i have finally got something to share. I really didn't want to bore anybody with the banal details of my life, in this blog. (I mean, other people write about those things and they sound fun and interesting...I just sound self obsessed!)...I really plan to share what i can with you, of any extraoridinary thoughts and experiences i have. So, that maybe means I post daily, maybe it means not very often, lol!

I saw an extraordinary movie the other night with my dh...In Her Shoes starring Toni Collette and Cameron Diaz. Having two sisters, this really spoke to me. Both of us were touched deeply by the film. I absolutely loved the poem read at the end by Cameron Diaz to her sister on her wedding day. It is by e.e. cummings..

Start as you mean to go....

That was the fabulous advice my mil gave me just days before i married her ds!! I found that advice meaningful and useful in my first few weeks of wifehood, trying to put my best foot forward, but not overdoing it, and having to answer for that later when life prevented me from being perfect!

Well, that is also why i have not posted as of yet in this blog! Thank you thank you thank you, my very closest digi scrappin buddy Robyn England, for getting this set up for me!! But days have gone by since she did, and I kept thinking, I'll just wait, because it should be perfectly customized before my first post!!

Well, those words "start as you mean to go" keep haunting me!! I am so NOT perfect, and that is ok...so my dear digi scrapping friends, this blog will not be perfect, either!! lol! And I know you will be forgiving of that!

I am waiting for Robyn (busiest lady I know, but accomplishes soooo much in a day, she is really amazing) to show me how to add links on the right (I'd like to see my friend Peggy Brutcher there, for one!!) and also a slide show!!

So keep me in mind, and tune in often!! I will even have a freebie or two for you when I have my GRAND opening....so please, stick around! :)
