Incredible, but true!

I have neglected my poor little blog and have been soooo busy lately with real life responsibility as well as a little designing.....but I have missed it! I will have previews to show you all of some of the work I have been busy with, but right now I thought I'd pop my head in and share with you this incredible, but true quote I just read by Friedrich Nietzsche and that I found on my friend Robyn England's blog today:

"We have art in order not to die of the truth"

I don't know about you, but this quote FLOORED me! It has so much personal significance, it is scary. Of course, Nietzsche is who I quote as part of the title of my blog, so finding his words easy to identify with, (at least some of them) wasn't the surprise. But the stark truth in this quote is what startled me. I'm going to bed, now, and I'm going to ponder on this, meditate on it's meaning.

I'd love to hear what you all think of it, though...how you interpret the meaning behind Nietzsche's words? It sure would be nice to hear from you all!

Nighty Night! Will see you soon, promise! :)

Hey Christine... I agree with you about Nitsche's quote, it has a lot of significance in my life too! The quote is stated so starkly, I think that is why it's truth floors us, the idea that we could literally curl up and die without art. It allows us to survive life's harsh realities.

Art is a survival tool we use to find things that excite us and to evoke joy and pleasure in our lives, it feeds our souls. I can so relate.... thanks for the reminder!
